AEW Collision 6/27 Results - Three Titles On The Line, Mone & Athena Vs. Hyan & World

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s live coverage of "AEW Collision," the last show before Sunday's AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door emanating from Rio Rancho, New Mexico. 

In a prelude to the Women's Owen Hart Cup final on Sunday, Maya World will team with Hyan to take on the woman she faces in the final, Mercedes Mone, and the woman she beat in the semi-final, Athena. They attacked her after her win over Athena, having feigned respect for the moment at the time. 

Persephone will defend her CMLL Women's World Championship against a student of Athena in Billie Starkz, and the AEW World Trios Championship will also be on the line as the Conglomeration's Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O'Reilly takes on the Opps' Hook, Anthony Bowens, and Katsuyori Shibata. Kevin Knight will be defending his TNT Championship against Dezmond Xavier.

Former Trios Champions alongside Knight, Mistico and Mike Bailey, will also be in tag team action against the Premier Athletes. And Chris Jericho will also be wrestling on the show against JD Drake. 

"AEW Collision" is scheduled to start at 8 PM ET on TNT and HBO Max for those in the US. International viewers can make use of the MyAEW streaming app.

The match starts with Katsuyori Shibata and Roderick Strong the legal men. They lock in a collar and elbow tie-up, with Shibata pushing Strong back to his own corner before breaking the hold. Strong tags Kyle O'Reilly in and Shibata tags in Hook. 

Hook and O'Reilly begin a grappling exchange in the middle of the ring, each taking turns at the advantage before O'Reilly gets the better with knees to the midsection. O'Reilly then tags out to Strong ho continues to work Hook. Strong tags O'Reilly back in for a double team in the corner, then O'Reilly tags Orange Cassidy to land an elbow drop from the top rope. 

Cassidy takes too long, per the gimmick, and gets dropped by Hook to create space for a tag out to Anthony Bowens. Bowens drops Cassidy and begins to boast before turning back to berate Cassidy. 

Cassidy puts his hands in his pockets, but Bowens pulls them back out. Cassidy simply puts his hands back in the pockets and begins to rally against Bowens. Bowens tags Shibata back in. 

Shibata calls for Cassidy to start a striking exchange, he obliges with super slow strikes. Shibata drops Cassidy, taking the action to the outside to beat him some more before putting Cassidy back in the ring with Hook tagged back in. Hook goes for a cover and gets a two-count, arguing with the referee before continuing to work Cassidy over. 

Shibata tags back in and continues to stomp down at Cassidy. He goes for a suplex, fails and attempts instead for a rear choke. Cassidy grapples out of it they go back to attempting to suplex one another to no avail. 

Shibata reverses it into a choke again, with Cassidy grappling out again before Shibata uses an octopus hold to get a roll-up, only for a two-count. Shibata cinches in the choke, sits Cassidy on the floor and goes for the PK. He kicks Strong off the apron as he seeks to intercept the move. 

Cassidy tags out to O'Reilly while Shibata tags Bowens back in. O'Reilly gets the better of him and cinches in an ankle lock, but Hook comes into the ring and cinches in a rear choke onto O'Reilly. O'Reilly fights both off and tags Strong back in. 

Strong meets Shibata in the middle of the ring, catching a boot to respond with several chops and eventually ensue a chopping exchange with him. Strong delivers a backbreaker to Shibata, Hook comes back in and gets a backbreaker too. Strong tags Cassidy in, throwing him into Shibata and Hook before setting up with another battering ram attack. But Shibata responds with an Orange Punch of his own. 

Shibata and O'Reilly now with a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, O'Reilly wins it only to get a T-Bone suplex from Hook. Cassidy comes in and lands a DDT on Hook, getting worked over then by Bowens as everyone enters the ring once more for another brawl. 

The field clears and Bowens has the better of Cassidy in the middle of the ring, goes for the cover but only for a two-count. 

Shibata comes in the ring and holds Cassidy for a superkick from Bowens. Bowens instead kicks Shibata, gets berated by Hook, and falls victim to an Orange Punch followed by an Olympic Slam for the losing pinfall.

We head backstage for a segment with Ricochet and the Gates of Agony. Jay Lethal, Blake Christian, and Lee Johnson appear. Lethal and Ricochet begin talking about having a similar haircut, and walk off together after Ricochet says they should talk some more. 

The bell rings and Kevin Knight delivers a kick to the midsection as Dezmond Xavier looks to tie up. Knight takes Xavier into the side headlock, takes over and goes for the cover for a one-count. Xavier manages to break the hold and push Knight back. 

Xavier goes for a cover himself and gets a two-count, followed by another after some grappling to get another two-count. Knight rolls Xavier up and puts his feet on the ropes for leverage, the referee sees it and stops the count at two. 

Xavier delivers a hurricanrana to send Knight out of the ring, looking to fly to the outside before Knight sees him and walks away. Knight refuses to get back in the ring until Xavier backs up, Xavier tries to push past the referee but gets dragged by the feet outside of the ring. 

Knight goes to send Xavier into the steel steps, Xavier jumps them but Knight follows with a leaping clothesline over the steps. Knight continues to put the boots in on the outside, beating Xavier down before going for a chop against the apron. He misses, with Xavier instead laying in some kicks before sending Knight back in the ring. 

Xavier delivers a standing shooting star press for the two-count. Knight gets the better of Xavier once more and wrenches in an arm lock in the middle of the ring. Knight fights out of it with a hip toss and drops Knight with a cutter. 

Xavier follows that up with a running uppercut in the corner, followed by a pair of kicks and a flying DDT for the two-count. Xavier goes to the top rope and gets dropped back down with a hurricanrana from Knight. Knights hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and goes for the cover for a two-count. 

Knight now goes to the top rope looking for the UFO Splash. Xavier sees him and rolls towards the ropes to avoid it. Knight goes for a springboard clothesline, Xavier avoids it and gets a pair of near-falls on roll-ups. Knight takes Xavier out with a snapping dropkick. Xavier responds with a spiking hurricanrana. Both men are down in the middle of the ring. 

Knight gets to his feet first and continues to beat down Xavier. He takes a break to jaw with the fans before getting a right hand from Xavier to rock him. Xavier lands a suicide dive to take out Knight on the outside. 

Xavier carries Knight back to the ring in a fireman carry. He goes to the top rope and goes for the Sky Twister Press, Knight gets the knees up and drops Xavier with the Crash Landing for the winning pinfall.

Thekla, Skye Blue, and Julia Hart come out to address Forbidden Door. Blue says she cannot wait to show Maika just how violent she is and Thekla says if she has to burn the Forbidden Door down then she will. 

The match starts and Chris Jericho and JD Drake begin jawing at one another in the middle of the ring. 

Jericho gets the better of Drake early on and goes for punches in the corner, perched on the ropes over his opponent. Drake goes to the outside of the ring and Jericho flies from the top rope to meet him there. 

Jericho drives Drake into the steel steps and throws Drake back in the ring. But Drake gets the better of Jericho and goes to the top rope, looking for a moonsault. Jericho rolls out of the way and thus ensues a striking exchange when Drake makes his way back to his feet. 

Jericho rolls Drake up for a two-count, following that up with a Codebreaker and a running knee. Commentary plays that up as a nod to Tommaso Ciampa. Jericho now locks in the Walls of Jericho. Drake taps out.

After the match, Jericho calls Tony Schiavone into the ring and cinches in the Walls of Jericho on Drake again. He tells Schiavone to say that Chris Jericho is better than Tommaso Ciampa, which he does. Jericho said he had Schiavone give that message because he has been looking for Ciampa, but has been unable to find him. 

He says he just wants to see Ciampa face-to-face so he can thank him, for leaving him beaten and bloody, because he needed it. He tells Ciampa that he will see him at Beach Break on July 8, and a graphic pops up to confirm the match. 

Challenger and champion pose with Tony Khan and the title belt as is the CMLL custom ahead of the match. 

The bell rings and they go back-and-forth from the offset, Billie Starkz first then followed by Persephone. Persephone goads Starkz with star jumps before dropping her once more. But Starkz goes to the outside and uses the ropes to her advantage, snapping the champion against them and dragging her out of the ring before clearing the announcer's desk. 

She lands a senton from the announcer's desk onto a prone Persephone, sending her over the guard rails before the referee orders her to take the action back to the ring. She stops short of the ring to lay a further beating on the champion, finally casting her back in and delivering mocking kicks to her on the mat. 

Starkz begins to strangle Persephone before the referee stops her once more. Then she brings her back into the middle of the ring for a neck crank. Persephone breaks the hold and fights back to hit a double-arm suplex, following up with back elbows to drop Starkz. 

Persephone goes for the cover but only gets a two-count. She pulls Starkz up by the waist, but Starkz fights her off with back elbows to create space. 

Starkz drops Persephone with a running knee before going to the top rope, Persephone goes up to meet her and hits a superplex, rolling through and looking for another. Starkz reverses it and both competitors are down in the middle of the ring. Starkz rises to her feet first and sinks kicks in, going for a running one before getting caught with a Northern Lights suplex for a near-fall. 

Persephone looks to go to the top rope, Starkz pulls her down by her hair. She then goes to the top and gets pulled back to the ring by Persephone. Persephone follows that up with a powerbomb to get the winning pinfall.

After the match, Hikaru Shida attacks Persephone and cinches in a leg hold. Kris Statlander enters to make the save along with Harley Cameron and Queen Aminata, making for a stare-off between all the Survival of the Fittest competitors.

Mike Bailey starts the match with Tony Nese, getting the better of him from the jump before Nese tags out to Ari Daivari for a double team. That prompts Mistico to run into the ring to even the odds as the fight is taken to the outside. 

Back in the ring and Daivari goes for a cover on Bailey for a two-count. Nese drops Mistico on the outside and runs into the ring to double team Bailey with Daivari. Daivari goes for the cover but Mistico breaks it, fighting them both off as Bailey recovers. 

Bailey does recover, linking with Mistico for stereo superkicks to send the Premier Athletes to the outside, following that up with dives to take them out on the outside. Bailey brings Daivari back in the ring and goes to tag out to Mistico, but Nese pulls Mistico from the apron, drops Bailey and tags himself back in. 

Bailey gets the tag out to Mistico, cinching in La Mistica on Nese for the quick submission.

The match starts and Adam Priest looks to tie up with Jake Doyle, but Doyle just sends him backwards in a show of strength. Priest comes back again only to get pushed back again. Doyle rams Priest into the corner and drives his shoulders into his midection, casting him backwards and throwing him around. 

Doyle goes for a powerslam but Priest slips out of it. Doyle runs through Priest with shoulder tackles before Priest comes back with a dropkick. Doyle sponges it and drops Priest with ease. He takes to wearing Priest down on the mat. Priest crawls beneath the ropes to break the hold, but as the referee pulls Doyle away Don Callis gets his own licks in. 

Doyle continues to wear Priest down with a boot to the back of his neck. He brings Priest back up, Priest fires off two right hands, and Doyle scoop slams him in return. 

Doyle takes Priest back to the corner and continues to drive his shoulders into the mid-section, winding his opponent who drops down to the mat. 

Priest rallies after the attacks in the corner, jumping the ropes with Doyle's arm in hand and snapping it against the top rope. He finds himself quickly halted back inside the ring as Doyle steps on his foot, slapping his chest to drop him to the mat. 

Priest still manages to maneuver Doyle into an armbar, but Doyle powers through to hit a powerbomb and break the hold. Doyle comes back at Priest but Priest instinctively kicks out, catching the targeted arm to an audible wince from Doyle. He follows that up with a DDT and goes for the cover but only gets a two-count. 

Priest goes to the top rope but is met by a right hand when he does fly. Doyle gets Priest back up but Priest cradles him for a two-count. Doyle comes back with a defiant boss slam and makes the cover, getting the winning pinfall.

The match starts with both teams pairing off, Hyan targeting Mercedes Mone and Maya World targeting Athena in opposite corners. Hyan and World continue to double team both Mone and Athena in their corner.

Athena and Mone look to regroup on the outside but World and Hyan grant no such reprieve, delivering stereo suicide dives. World decides she will continue as the legal competitor against Athena as Hyan and Mone take their places on the apron. 

World continues to work Athena but as the referee checks on the latter the former is grabbed by Mone. Mone tags in and looks to beat down her opponent on Sunday. 

Back in the ring and Mone continues to kick down at World on the mat, tagging Athena back in for a double suplex. Athena goes for the cover but World kicks out at two. Athena drags World to the apron and continues to hammerfist her back, following up with a knee to the ribs before tagging back out to Mone. 

Mone uses a snapmare takeover to cinch in the rear choke to World seated in the ring. World pulls Mone through but Mone responds with a dropkick and goes for the cover, only getting a two-count. Mone tags Athena back in and they look for another double suplex. World flips out of it, tags Hyan in. Hyan takes out Mone and Athena with a double clothesline. 

Now Hyan is working Mone over in the ring. She doesn't realize Athena is the legal woman as she climbs the apron and delivers a powerbomb onto it. Mone takes a moment to pose with the Owen Hart Cup as Athena makes her way back to the ring and makes the cover for a two-count. 

Mone tags back in, grabbing Hyan by her hair and throwing her around the ring. She goes for a cover and gets a two-count before throwing Hyan back in her corner, tagging Athena back in to continue the work. 

Athena drops Hyan with right hands and tags Mone back in, Athena whipping Mone into Hyan with double knees. Mone goes for the cover but Hyan kicks out. 

Mone stalks Hyan playfully while she crawls over to World in the corner. Mone hits a backstabber and goes for the cover, again only for a two-count. Mone tags Athena back in, she hits a senton and goes for the cover yet again for a two-count. Mone tags back in and looks for Three Amigos. She only gets two as Hyan rolls her up for a two-count.

Mone goes for double knees in the corner, Hyan rolls out of the way to send Mone into the buckles. Hyan manages to tag out to World as Mone tags out to Athena. World rallies against Athena culminating in a double foot stomp and going for the cover. Athena kicks out and World heads to the top rope. 

Mone grabs her to provide time for Athena to rip her back down to the ring. Mone tags in they double team World before going for the cover. But Hyan makes the save. 

When the dust clears Mone and World begin a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. World gets the better of Mone in the exchange before neither manages to really get a hold of each other. Athena tags Mone as she hits the rope, World doesn't see it and hits a cutter to Mone. 

Athena comes into the ring and attacks World, going for the cover before Hyan makes the save again. World tags Hyan back into the affair. Mone and World begin fighting on the outside of the ring, with Mone locking in the Statement Maker on the floor. Back in the ring, Athena hits the O-Face and gets the winning pinfall.

After the match, Mone and Athena look to continue the beatdown locking in a Statement Maker-Single Leg Boston Crab. Worlds re-enters the ring and fights them both off of her to close the show standing tall.
